Five Foot's Hubby Booted Off Blogger?

These Israeli-Palestinian set-tos always Put Arnie over the moon, so I imagine someone reported some kind of hate-speech/policy/terms-of-service violation thingy to Blogger Central and they yanked his site.  But no matter, looks like Ms. Shaidle will have work with a new John Tory administration.

PS.  Pic can be made bigger by clicking on it.

Bernie Farber

...poses with: Conservative Party organizer Georgeanne Burke, PCPO riding association president for Thornhill (MPP Peter Shurman's riding) Gila Martow, and York U professor Merle Jacobs.  Also in the picture is officer Ricky Veerappan, the fellow that got Pam Geller turfed from her Thornhill gig.  Kathy Shaidle thinks there's something scandalous going on here on Bernie's part.  I don't see it myself, but what's weird is how it doesn't seem to bother Shaidle that a couple of known Tories are also "in deep", as it were, with Veerappan.  Also doesn't seem to bother her that, according to Geller herself,  Jason Kenney, Canada's Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, was involved in the conspiracy to keep her from her Thornhill appearance.  Apparently there's lots of freedom hatin', Jihadi lovin' types playing for the blue team as well.

Kathy Shaidle Debunks Stereotype That Every Encounter With The Legal System Makes You Wiser

That is all.

Actually, if you don't it: she and husband have been getting sued left right and center.  And I think there's a new one coming down the pipe from an unlikely source (not any of the folks ref'd through the link either).

Blazing Cat Fur Takes One In The Money Belt

From the website of Richard Warman:

Richard Warman is pleased to confirm settlement of his libel action against Arnie Lemaire (aka BlazingCatFur) on terms acceptable to the parties including removal of all material identified in the current statement of claim.

No details on cash amounts, but rumor has it Arnie and his wife Kathy Shaidle will be moving to new digs shortly.  The particulars of the defamation are the same as those in the Ezra Levant case, as those in the case of KKKate from SDA, as those in the case of the Fourniers from FreeD.  Expect all of them to go the same way when they eventually conclude.

Western University's CHRW Radio To Give Platform To Well Known Racist

Yeah, somebody thinks Kathy Shaidle is a valid representative of some legitimate political philosophy.  In this case its CHRW, a campus radio station who are probably so desperately in need of content that they'll throw anything on the air without bothering to do a background check.  In case anyone needs reminding, here's  just a few of her greatest hits.  To repeat myself: she's not a Conservative, she's a Racist and, for the folks at CHRW, there's a precedent for people who have offered her a platform actually doing some research, learning about her, recoiling in disgust, and denying her that platform after some sober 2nd thought.

Its probably too late, but if anyone wants to email the station, you might try:

Grant Stein, Station Manager

It probably won't work.  In fact I bet Mr. Stein climbs aboard the portable crucifix all would-be newsies get when they attend j-school and claims to be oppressed.  Might be wise to remind him that the only other thing Western is famous for is Jean Philippe Rushton.

Update:  As of this morning, Shaidle was still scheduled to appear.

Someone's Gonna Shit

...when they read this.  The shitting will likely begin here, and spread quickly to other parts of the Internet.  Is the on-line world broad enough to contain the veritable storm that is coming?

The Mystery of Michael Coren

I too am puzzled by Michael Coren's latest blog post on the shootings in Norway.  He doesn't quite say that those kids on that island deserved what they got for their insufficient zealotry in support of Israel.  He merely refers to a "tragic irony".  There may be some irony in the notion of a Conservative Christian so convinced that Muslims are barbarians unfit for Norwegian society that he was willing to kill nearly 100 people (mostly non-Muslim, presumably) to prove his point.

Maybe I'm just not seeing that irony.

In any case, the most charitable explanation for Mr. Coren's post is that he was drunk or on crack at the time.  Just as likely, but more sinister, is the possibility that he was floating a few trial balloons in advance of his new show on Sun TV.  After all, Lilley and Levant pretty have the explicit muzzie bashing end of things covered...but nobody is directing Teh Hate at Nordic Social Democrats.  Maybe Mr. Coren sees a niche that is thus far unoccupied.

Also, Colby Cosh's attempt to change the subject is pretty wormy.
Also, Anders Brehing Breivik apparently bragged of his links to the English Defense League Maybe Meir and the Shaidle's will arrange a meet and greet.  Maybe he' already left comments on their blogs at one time or another.

And maybe, just maybe, Mr. Weinstein will do the right thing and, finally, distance himself from the EDL and all it stands for.  I'm not holding my breath, mind you, but I have been informed he is capable of acts of simple human decency.

WK Explains

...why the Steve Paiken puff-piece in the G&M is crap.  A couple of points I would add.

1) Kathy Shaidle is not a conservative.  She's a racist.  The evidence for that is overwhelming.  Mr Paiken and the writers at the G&M do conservatives no favours by eliding the distinction.

2) I have no problem with anyone attempting to deny Ms. Shaidle a pay-cheque or a soap-box, and  I'd like to think I've got her tossed out of a venue or two in my time.  My taxes pay Mr. Paiken's salary, and it appalls me that he would use them to promote trash on TVO.

3)  WK is talking about taking this case to the Ontario Press Council.  I say do it.  Pigs don't regulate themselves.

Should Shimon Fogel Head Up The CIJA?

A rather oblique post at WK's this morning got me wondering.

It turns out that the Canadian Council for Israel and Jewish Advocacy (CIJA) is undergoing a reorg, and part of the reorg involves bringing in new leadership, possibly in the form of Shimon Fogel, currently CEO of the Canada-Israel Committee (CIC).

But how suitable is Mr. Fogel for this position?

Well, as part of the CIC's PR efforts, they've organized several blogger excursions to Israel. The bloggers they have chosen have come from various points on the political spectrum: for example, Jeff Jedras went on one such trip back in May. The problem is, the CIC have also been willing to cavort with the Canadian blogosphere's far-right lunatic fringe: Five Foot, her husband, and Kate from Delisle.

Five Foot (Kathy Shaidle), for example, has been the proud author of such remarks as:

[Sikhs are]Backward foreigners [who] shit on hand that feeds them...Unable to invent their own iconic product due to too much time spent worshipping monkeys and cows, setting women on fire and obsessing over imperceptible differences in each other's skin colour...

And the weird thing is, it seems as though the CIC were a little bit ashamed of being connected with these clearly very zealous supporters of Israel. For one thing, their trip was organized "semi-secretly". For another, while in a personal communication to me it was explained that the CIC was not an official sponsor of the event, Sara Saber-Freedman, their Montreal EVP, went along. Even more mysteriously, a picture of her on the flight over, appeared, and then disappeared, from the website of Shaidle's hubby. In fact, it was buried so deep that it can't even be found on google-cache anymore. (Here's a tip: you want something to disappear from google cache? It only archives the previous version. Keep overwriting with new text and the old stuff eventually falls off). It was as though the CIC wanted to court the fringe right of the Canadian blogosphere, but at the same time wanted to keep it on the down-low.

And now their leader wants to move on to bigger and better things. I suppose the issue is: once he's installed in his new position, will the CIJA begin courting the nation's lunatic fringe on the grounds that, although they hate everyone else, they're solidly behind Israel?

IFPS Leader Faces Racism Charges

Lars Hedegaard, a frequent & prominent commentator in the right wing Danish newspapers, also serves as director of the International Free Press Society (IFPS).

And, if you recall, it was the Canadian-wing of the IFPS that arranged the infamous "Ann Coulter in Canada" tour, which I have written about on numerous occasions.

In fact, the IFPS-Canada's Ezra Levant (he is on their Board of Advisers) was there with Ann during her disastrous appearance at the University of Ottawa, when organizers failed to secure an appropriately sized venue, bungled the process of registering and admitting attendees, and then blamed "The Left" when things got out of hand and they were forced to cancel the speech.

In any case, Mr. Hedegaard is, as they say, in dutch with Danish authorities:

The chairman of the Freedom of the Press Society, Lars Hedegaard, has been charged with making racist remarks by the Public Prosecutor for Copenhagen.

The charge comes after Hedegaard on the blog site Snaphanen in December 2009 described rape as common in Muslim families, especially girls by their uncles, cousins or fathers.

The Copenhagen Post notes that numerous prominent members have abandoned the IFPS in the wake of Hedegaard's remarks; we'll see if the Canadian contingent is up to a similar display of class.

Incidentally, also on the Board of Advisers for the IFPS are Mark Steyn, and our own Kathy Shaidle, whose attempts to organize Canadian tea-baggers in London was similarly unsuccessful.

C'mon folks: step up and denounce!

I Give You "Sabertooth"

An update to Shaidle's adventures in the holy land: the gal next to Shaidle on the El Al flight to Israel, (a picture now gone even from the google cache), and referred to as "Sabertooth", was Sara Saber-Freedman, the CIC's Montreal EVP. And, as I say, I have been told that the CIC was NOT an official sponsor of Five Foot's tour. And yet Shaidle's hubby made a special effort to have that picture (of a CIC staffer!) disappeared. Go figure.

Note: this guy says the trip was planned "semi-secretly".

London Teabaggers Redefine Concept Of "Complete And Utter Failure"

From Five Foot's website:

We topped out at about 100 people for the London "Stop over Spending" rally outside City Hall.

Frankly, I can't believe we had that many, under the circumstances: at points, the rain was blasting down in sheets, and the wind knocked a lot of our stuff around.

Frankly, I can't believe they had that many either. Applying the Shaidle deflation factor, and working through the math, I get 20 far right blogging nerdlingers, the voices in their heads, their mamma, several addled seniors, and a homeless guy that stumbled into the parking lot where the city stuck their pathetic display and was brutally clubbed to death in lieu of an actual Islamist.

This picture, from here, gives some idea of the "crowd" size.
Note also in these pictures the total absence of rain "blasting down". Note in this picture the actual presence of sunshine. And here's the weather for that day; the rain avoided their little rebellion nicely.

Finally, it appears "the black guy" didn't show. Probably got within 100 yards of this gang and heard banjos playing the theme from Deliverance.

Its The First Canadian Teabag Day!

Anyone near London pop in and take a look.

As of earlier this week, according to Five Foot, the London S.O.S rally had lined up seven guest speakers! Given that their Facebook site listed a grand total of about 24 rally attendees, maybe they'll let everyone speak and take turns being the audience.

Here's one devoted tea-bagger regretfully bowing out of the proceedings:

That is far out! I hope it is one hell of a bash. If it wasn’t for being out of work and just having a cancerous kidney removed on Monday, I would be there. I haven’t been in London since the summer of 01.
Comment by Glenn Cassel AMH1(AW) USN Retired — September 24, 2009 @ 9:33 pm

Here's the location. Although its a greenish colour on the map, event organizer Andrew Lawton describes Reg Cooper Square as follows:

Thanks for your questions! Reg Cooper Square is the big open paved area behind City Hall, in between City Hall and Centennial Hall.

So I guess my question is: are they holding this thing in a park or a parking lot?

What Are The London Teabaggers Hiding?

Since yesterday, their guest list has disappeared from the facebook page: Given that Shaidle is the main draw, I can see how attendees, especially ones who might have ambitions to elected office, might not want to have their presence at the event made known.

On the other hand, given how many high-profile Conservatives have decided to bathe their pet hamster that day, maybe that's what they're trying to cover-up.

London Teabaggers Bag A Few Superstars

So far, the announced speakers are FCI employee and conservative activist Andrew Lawton, former Tory candidate and FCI board member Mary Lou Ambrogio...

And that's in addition to Shaidle!

Mary Lou Ambrogio finished 2nd last time out in the riding of London-Fanshawe with about 31% of the vote. Looks like she isn't running again.

Andrew Lawton was at one time Southwestern Ontario District Chair, Ontario PC Youth Association (and may still be for all I know), and is on the Board of the London West Conservative Association.

Heavy hitters, in other words. Confirmed attendence so far is 23 white people and one young black guy in a suit. Probably a teenage libertarian. Ezra will not be there, nor will Peter Kent or Gerry Nicholls or Michael Coren. They'll apparently be playing mini golf that day.

Only In Canada, You Say?

The teabaggers are coming to Canada (London, Ont. to be precise), on October 3rd, led by the inimitable Five Foot. Be sure to apply the Shaidle deflation factor to any attendance figures she provides (ie divide by two).

Given the invite list on their Facebook page, looks like this one's going to top out at three dozen rebels, Max.
