Those nutty Catholics are at it again:
CALGARY — The Roman Catholic school board in Calgary has followed the lead of a Catholic school board in Burlington, Ont., in pulling the children's fantasy book The Golden Compass off school shelves.
Off course they're not all going over the top:
Calgary Bishop Fred Henry said there are more pressing issues facing Catholics than debating a children's fantasy novel.
In fact here's one of 'em, also on the literary front: Catholic coloring book warns US kids of pedophile priests.
But you know the most offensive thing?
The book has been out since 1995 and is part of a trilogy written by self-described atheist Philip Pullman. Some people believe it is anti-Catholic and anti-religion; others say it is merely anti-establishment.
It was voted the best children's book in the last 70 years by one survey of readers from around the world.
No, it freaking is NOT the best children's book in the last 70 years. That honor rests with Richard Adams' classic first novel, Watership Down.
Stupid readers!

...yeah, like wondering just what other people are doing with their bodies behind closed doors.
I think ol' Bishop Henry just doesn't want to be distracted from all fornication and man-sex.
What the hell do you care? Does anybody tell Jews or Muslims which books they can put in their own libraries? Should the Thought Police inspect the bookshelves of any leftwing think tanks and file a Human Rights complaint?
God you Liberals really are dictatorial little pricks, aren't you. You'd think you've got nothing better to do, like maybe pick a new leader.
No kidding anon. While Catholic, I don't go to church because I think it's a waste of time. But I don't really give a shit when some school pulls Harry Potter or The Golden Shower or whatever-the-fuck. Just like I don't care when the Pope tells us yet again that sex for reasons outside of procreation is a sin, and birth control is bad, etc. He'd know?
Yet the progressives go absolutely batshit for that stuff. Every time some bishop tears himself away from his Internet porn long enough to condemn abortion or complain about gay marriage, the whole fucking flock of progressives is out in full force, bleating about separation of church and state, expressing "outrage", or just offering snide, oh-so-humourous (i.e. "lame") commentary in an effort to demonstrate their sophisticated superiority to such things.
And of course we have Ti-Guy making his usual remarks about conservatives being opposed to sex, or whatever asinine theories he's pulled out of his ass that particular day. Apparently years of having his ass bored out in prison give him the moral authority to denounce anyone with still-functioning rectums as a prude. Or as he likes to say, "anti-sex". (Seriously, I've seen him make that accusation. Anti-sex???? WTF does that mean?)
Now go ahead TG, and write your completely predictable post suggesting I "don't get any". Just don't ask me for anymore naked pictures. That's just creepy.
Man, someone must really have pulled a number on RR when he was an altar boy.
He's totally deranged.
By the way Ti-Guy, where were you on Saturday?
Nowhere near Carlingwood Mall, that's for sure.
Next time you beg me to kick your fat ass, could you choose a venue that's a little more upmarket?
I see. Carlingwood Mall is just a little too..... proletarian for you. You wouldn't want any of your fellow champagne liberals and silver spoon socialists to see you in a place like that. They might think you were actually shopping there. Shopping with the commoners - how frightfully gauche! It had nothing to do with you being a spineless little coward who threatens people over the Internet, but runs away from any actual conflict, lest he piss his pants in public.
