Shawna Richer is Back

...writing for her old paper The Globe and Mail.

Shawna is the once editor of the Telegraph-Journal who lost her job during the wafergate scandal, possibly due to the inappropriate laying on of muscle by the federal Tories.

When The Globe gets rid of Margaret Wente and Marcus Gee, I'll start caring. As it is, this product-placement fluff piece by Ms. Richer is just more of what's killing journalism.

OT: An SF Chronicle columnist notices the tar sands and unloads. The piece is a fun read, but it's a bit depressinbg that he's hearing about the tar sands, or at least the nasty details, for the first time.
