Dion: If Elected, I Promise To Abstain.

Why not? The strategy seems to be working.

Yes, someone might argue, but it isn't because of this strategy that the Lib numbers have changed. Which is true, but if they hadn't employed some of that "strategic patience" stuff, the game might have been up before the numbers had a chance to change.

And of course some others might argue that these new poll numbers suggest that now is the time to pull the plug. I am still of the opinion, though, that the Tories have not yet bottomed. There's a video of Lukwiski out there somewhere, in a yellow leisure suit, offering Cadman a bribe and calling him a "fag" when he refuses to take it. Its just up to us to find it.

I'm more convinced now then ever that we're going in June.

Takes two to tango, or at least more than one. What if the Tories start backing away from stuff they've been saying will be matters of confidence? You don't hear anything about the wheat-board; they might let C-484 and the immigration stuff die. That's quite possible if they sense that they are weakened.

Over two years since the last election, many renewal commissions, many blue ribbon committees...and the Liberal Party of Canada still has ZERO POLICIES, offering the extremely unbelievable lie that they are "still working on it".

The Liberals, literally, do not stand for a single thing. They plan on making policy up on the fly *after* the writ is dropped, entrusting the task to a former NDP premier who is considered hazmat in vote rich Ontario.

Stephen Harper will break - with significant cruelty - the Liberal Party of Canada. Break it in half, and leave it bankrupt. Millions of Liberal supporters - publicly humiliated. Yes.

As (or if) Liberal numbers increase, NDP and BQ enthusiasm for going to the polls will decline.

It's unlikely for a set of circumstances to arrise where all three opposition parties will think it's in their interest to go to the polls.

However, it's still beneficial to the Liberals to be the ones who want to pull the plug and being able to mock the others as being timid.

On that note, I'll mention a story in today's Globe (find the link; I can't be bothered with its stupid web site) that reported something I saw yesterday; the CF's television commercials are not featuring overseas, Islamic-looking scenarios in its recruitment campaign.

I just love how public money is being used to shape public opinion about very serious matters. Talk about social engineering!

Cons are ready to tango over the immigration bill.
Cons:No ammendments acceptable,
Dion: No ammendments, we will vote against.

Question is, will enough Libs show up to deafeat the government?
If Cons really want to go, maybe some of them will not hear the bells (oops).

That's probably correct. The only thing that used to be unpredictable about the Cons was their shamelessness. Even that doesn't work anymore.

I do hope they try something else. What do you recommend, Wilsie? Outright fraud?

As I said.

There WILL be an election in the coming few weeks.

As I also said,

over a dozen seats in each of Ontario and Quebec, two seats in BC, and two in Manitoba, will go from the Liberals to the CPC.

I'll be back in a few weeks, after the results are in (at about 10:00 pm eastern it should be pretty clear).

Ciao.

Doesn't matter if they find that video. It still wouldn't convince Dion to go to an election.
