Dave Rutherford suggests himself as Fox North superstar, in an article which is quick to note that:
Rutherford's talk radio program is the first stop for Conservatives in Alberta, but attempts at national syndication have never succeeded.
Incidentally, or not, Dave Rutherford was one of the few Canuck journalists taken in by the Yes Men's wonderful Copenhagen hoax last December, inadvertently providing air time to one of the hoaxers. But I guess at Fox North Ezra Levant will be on hand for fact-checking purposes.
Meanwhile, Rachel Marsden cautions Fox North against hiring ugly people for tv work.
I have a feeling that the resumes are just a flyin' through cyberspace this morning.

Apparently, they did ask Rick Mercer to join; he declined, citing that he is happy where he is.
Also looks like a show for Ezzy is being negotiated.
And of course, you know about David Akin and Brian Lilley.
The Mercer thing is interesting. Remember: fox had The Simpsons and Married With Children. The first being a wonderful show, the second less so, but very popular. But in Canada there is no conservative version of Mercer.
I think Kory Kornhead has already begun the anti-Liberal campaign. Attacking CBC and last night on Tom Clark's show he tweeted that Craig Oliver used to canoe with Trudeau - Oliver laughed because he noted that he also went horseback riding in Alberta with Preston Manning.
So, Kory Krumball is beginning the mental manipulation. One has to wonder if Duffy has juicy secrets he'll share with Kid Kory?

I'd say bet on it! Him and Pamela Wallin.

Well, of course not! Since when are conservatives funny and today's conservatism in Canada ever funny?
Unless of course, they deliver erroneous facts and dumb statements.
Wonder if they'll let cameras into Lord Black's cell bloc...
By the way, possible upside to this farce, no more wackos on actual news channels.
Does Rutherford still run on any Corus station outside of Alberta?
It used to. Nobody cared.
Fox News and Fox are not the same entity, despite their common name and ownership. There's no parallel between Fox showing the Simpsons and KoryTV trying to hire Mercer.
It does show a difference in approach though. Mercer, while he keeps his personal political beliefs to himself, is clearly not a right-wing Christofascist so-con. There certainly aren't any openly gay hosts on Fox News.
CK conservatives are angry. All the time and about everything. I think it's their version of humour...
Aw,c'mon. Ezra's hilarious, especially if you turn the sound off and just watch him.
At least with a network like that, we might be able to see the 'hollinms' stop trolling every single news article I read online, complaining about "liberal bias" and "lefties" all the time.
That being said, Rutherford at least is making a half-serious attempt at convincing that this network will not be imbued with American style neo-conservatism. I will eat my shirt if they actually get Tories on there of the George Grant variety. Then again, most neo-cons these days probably think George Grant was Ulysses' great grandson. If not, they probably would dismiss his ideas, since he is the Uncle of Iggy.
or should I say "was the uncle of Iggy"

Well, myself being a Tory of the George Grant variety; I'd say the chances of seeing someone like Joe Clark, Dalton Camp, André Bachand or David Orchard with their own shows on FOX-North are much less likely than the Maple Leafs winning the cup next season.
No real Tory would wish to appear with these reactionary, populist GOP wannabes.
