Prominent Tory Defends Harper's Psychic

From the Maclean's 50 comments on this story, John Reynolds speaks:

Michelle is a wonderful person and doesn't deserve the treatment she is receiving. I wonder what all our wonderful TV personalities would look like if somebody wasn't combing their hair and applying the makeup.

When Michelle travels with the PM her expenses are paid by the party...

Yes, her expenses are picked up by the party but her salary is picked up by the Canadian tax-payer, and this is the part that many people find offensive. It is also a bit bizarre that a leader who prides himself on his "ordinary guy-ness" would need someone to powder his nose and apply lip-gloss for him so that he looks like someone who doesn't wear make-up.

Finally, the "treatment" people like myself are dishing out is aimed at Mr. Harper, not Ms. Muntean. But, frankly, if she was any good as a psychic she would have seen all this coming, and advised Harper accordingly.

Will the psychic tell him when to call an election, and if he does call it, and loses, will he sue her?.... much like Harper..maybe he will blame the Liberals, instead, as the Liberals cause everything.

Have you seen this lady? She's quite the frump. No wonder her work with Harper is so disappointing.

When you watch the video of her wiping off Harper's jacket, she is not dusting for lint. What she is doing is called a "psychic cleansing." Watch the video closely and you'll see what I mean. She is creating a aura of power around him, using her psychic abilities to create an aura of defense around him before he conducts his interview.
What will be interesting is what his fundamentalist base will make of Harper's use of this sort of mumbo-jumbo.

RT,

Well, the odds are stacked against her, aren't they? You've heard the expression "lipstick on a pig"? We're getting pretty close to its literal meaning in Harper's case.

Anon 5:00,

Yes I see it now. As a practical political matter, would we be able to penetrate this psychic shield if if we got a lock of Harper's hair or some toenail clippings?

Yes indeed. Three hairs from his head would be enough to seriously crimp his style.

Three hairs in the hands of a psychic or a witch with a bad attitude could penetrate his auric barrier and cause him untold misfortune: anything from a case of hives to male pattern baldness, incontinence oh the list goes on and on!

Which is why I am sure his psychic will be diligent about keeping his hairbrush and lint brush to herself. She may have also instructed him to give her his nail clippings for her to burn.

It will be very interesting to see what Harper's fundamentalist base will think about his flirtations with the Dark Powers.

Whooee! Yer right as rain, BCL. Nobuddy's throwin' stones at the psychic make-up gal. Harper's the one with egg on his face. But... she's in charge of his face, so if there's egg on it...

I reckon it's a great laff that we got a Prime Minister Pretty Boy gettin' primped by a professional. It's really showin' off Harper's emphasis on style over substance.

That same style over substance is evident in his environmental actions. The mask is fallin' away an' under the make-up an' green suit, there's an emperor in his birthday suit.

I reckon we gotta get to the bottom of how much we're payin' Ms. Muntean an' how Harp justifies it.

Did you catch Sandra Buckler's stirring defence of Muntean when asked if she performs psychic services for Harper?

"She doesn't. I don't care what she is. She is very helpful. She carries the bags. She opens the door. She is very nice."

Greater praise hath no flack...

Nobuddy's throwin' stones at the psychic make-up gal.

Isn't that just another delicious example of the usual wingnut logic? If Harper had been caught screwing a fruit-bat, and normal people expressed outrage, the wingnuts would accuse us of being insensitive to the the plight of the poor, abused fruit-bat.

It must be special to be in a permanent condition of moral rectitude. How do they do it?..

So, a conservative PM is not allowed to have staff?

This is soooooo much more important than wasting $1 billion dollars on a gun registry. $250,000 per day, every day, for eight years. And you can't spend that kind of money with just mismanagement; ineptitude will only take you so far. As Sheila goes digging, she will find more criminal activity. You know, from the party of convictions.
