A "Blast" From The Tory Past

Don't remember anyone apologizing for the drawing of Iggy pointing a gun at Dion, from the Tory website during last year's election campaign.

delightful point. indeed.

In all seriousness, how any Conservative can pretend to be genuinely offended, is OFFENSIVE.

STFU, if anything the Libs just visited your HOME TOWN. Sheesh.

Don't you know that it's different when Conservative do something that is equally or more offensive... Why? Because it always is...

Just because you don't remember someone apologizing for that photo that you say appeared on the CPC website doesn't mean that no one apologized.

And, in case some of my Liberal friends think too much is being made of this, imagine the identical photo appearing on the CPC website, but with Iggy's photo where the PM's is. Would you be just as laid back about it?

Anonymous said...

Geesh Brian, are you saying that it did not appear on the CPC site?

Those making a big deal about this are mostly Conservatives. Lets not forget that this was a reader submitted images compared to some officially produced by Conservatives (for their sites)....

Either you are a complete idiot Brian or willfully unaware that the CPC has been producing this kind of images for awhile now...

At this point, I doubt it. The Conservatives have been engaging in a publicly-funded hate propaganda campaign for almost four years now. I have one of their latest 10-percenters accusing the Liberals of being antisemites right in front me.

If you Conservatives find any of this distressing, I suggest you complain to your Conservative MP's and stop bothering Liberals with your mealy-mouthed distractions.

It was an offensive photo. The LPC apologized.

The CPC wishes they hadn't.

Nothing else to it really.

"Geesh Brian, are you saying that it did not appear on the CPC site?"

I'm not saying that it didn't. All I am saying is that I didn't see it. I don't examine the CPC site every minute of every day, I do have a life after all. I am willing to take your word for it that it was there.

"Lets not forget that this was a reader submitted images..."

Are you saying that the Liberals are not responsible for what appears on their official website?

"...the CPC has been producing this kind of images for awhile now..."

I am perfectly aware that the propensity to produce tacky images is common to supporters of all political parties, human nature being what it is.

However, my point, and that of my fellow Tories, is that imagining the murder of a political leader, whatever you think of him or his policies, is beyond anything that has appeared on the CPC (if you look carefully at that drawing of Iggy, it no way shows him pointing the gun at Dion).

If you don't agree, then fine, you don't agree. In any event, it certainly doesn't affect my point about whether anyone apologized for the drawing of Iggy. Nor does it affect my point here: "...imagine the identical photo appearing on the CPC website, but with Iggy's photo where the PM's is. Would you be just as laid back about it?"

The Liberals have taken responsibility for it and apologized.
This is in contrast to something that was paid for by the Conservatives.

beyond anything that has appeared on the CPC
You mean images of Dion surrounded by bullet holes are fine? Really?

Harper personally apologized for a tasteless puffin poop cartoon.

Ignatieff is silent on a cartoon that promotes a blatant assassination.

That tells me enough.

Ti-Guy said...

That tells me enough.

As a quick glance at your blog also tells me all I need to know about the value of your opinion, 'tjaard.

See? This is why the Liberals really shouldn't bother much with apologies. Fuck 'em if they can't take a joke.

CanuckRover said...

Everyone seems to be ignoring something pretty obvious. The picture, bad taste or not, wasn't promoting "blatant assassination" as the conbot above puts it. The photo was part of a "where would Harper rather be than Copenhagen" contest and the entry suggested he'd rather be getting shot. Anyone who thinks Harper's head posted on to LHO's body "promotes a blatant assassination" is... well, I guess they're a member of the CPC base.

Ti-Guy said...

I'm sure it's a manifestation of a more subliminal Angst among Conservatives as well; that they believe the rest of us would *want* to assassinate them, given how repugnant they all are.

MJ you did a good job on PP with ST.

Merry Christmas. Hope 2010 is better than 2009 for LPOC.

Now for the keystroke clowns:

How unusual the clown posse is angry the CPC are milking another Liberal cock-up.

Too bad for the bedwetters shit happens, MI could have killed it by apologizing immediately.

He chose to show contempt and dismiss his responsibility as the leader of the party.

The framing of out of touch elitism is being reinforced again.

How many times have we heards the clowns rail the government for letting their junior level grunts take the heat for mistakes?

Accountability MI wears this by denying his responsibility and delaying his apology. The smart money was to diffuse and apologize -see WK on damage control.

Karma meet bedwetters. Your leader is not listening to advice any more from his inner circle. He has fired and sent them packing.

The finalists communism: Harper to dictators responsible for Genocide was very classy btw.

There it is again; using "Merry Christmas" as a passive-aggressive offence.

They're not bullet holes, they are paper holes, like the kind you get when you poke a pencil through a piece of paper. As the PMO spokesman indicated, the message was that Dion's plan was full of holes. If anyone wants to see the photo, here's a link to the web page carrying it.

Look at the curls and shadows around the holes, which themselves vary in size. Compare that with a target with bullet holes. You will see how much of a stretch the Dion bullet hole spin was when it was first brought up a year ago and it is still a stretch. Of course, if you want to continue to make such a comparison, I can't stop you. However, you will only look foolish.

Gosh, I wish I could troll Stephen Taylor's blog the why his minions do on this and every other Liberal blog.

You Libs are just too predictable.

Think about what hit the news today, and what you prefer to rag on.
Yes, let's talk about Dion.

lol

You mean Colvin pointing out that the gov't is full of shit? Yeah, we knew that already.

Brian,

whether is the wafer, bodybagys, torch relay, the letter "c", the SPIN from the clown car brigade is to smear the government. The truth is not important.

How many times have they made stuff up and tried to SPIN into a scandal of the week?

I love how Conservatives are a bunch of self-deluted morons.

Even the semi-scenescent connie followers like "Brian in Calgary" turn out to be complete morons.
I guess if Jesus freaks that believe in a sky daddy could be able to believe anything regurgitated by the big connie wind machine...

The fact that the Connies have decided to send out the pathetic email this morning that they are not bullet holes (months after the original image was published) is enough to confirm that, in fact, these are bullet holes.

Seeing conbots repeat that they are not bullet holes, will not make it so.
There is not question in my mind that a similar image, featuring your dear leader would provoke howls of outrage from the assmonkeys.
And lets be clear about this, they are bullet holes - saying otherwise only confirms that you are severely retarded and/or a complete moron.

Gosh, I wish I could troll Stephen Taylor's blog the why his minions do on this and every other Liberal blog.
That is because these proponents of free speech are afraid of having their asses handed back to them when they spout idiocies...

I used to have the patience to engage these conbots, now I just think they deserve a kick to the nads and to be send to some kind of camp....

Typical Harpercrits...

"They're not bullet holes, they are paper holes, like the kind you get when you poke a pencil through a piece of paper."

Who cares. They look like bullet holes, something libloggers have been saying for months.

Saying they are "just paper holes" is just like saying the photo shop of Harper was "just a joke".

Gayle said...

"You mean Colvin pointing out that the gov't is full of shit? Yeah, we knew that already."

I think she is referring to the new earth like planet that was discovered.

All part of the CPC contingency plan. Once the earth is destroyed due to global warming, we will just pack up and move to this new planet. It is what god wants us to do.

They have a plan? Wow, that would be a first.

I'm just sick of them squatting at Liberal blogs and trolling the shit out of them. Mostly because they're so painfully juvenile.

On that note, can we start a petition to get Brian to get rid of the photo. A picture of a respectable looking middle-aged gentleman is incredibly jarring when associated with the howler monkey crap that makes up his comments.

Less jarring than the interests he lists on his profile, though.

Chern,

A plan, what fer?

With the Libs imploding, bringing supplies for smores is all that is needed.

MI was leading best PM in Dec 08 at 28 now he is at 15 in 09. (Angus Polls)

It is safer to stand back and watch the LPOC blow itself up.

There you go.

Yup, CanadianSense accusing everyone of drinking too much again. Need new material there - betwetting and drinking is getting very boring.

CS mustn't have anything to do. All over the blogosphere with PM talking points at "great length" and not making any real points at all.

Go for a walk or get a job

I'm sure we could lock up CS in a room with an echo machine and he/she would argue with himself/herself until hoarse...

Because they lie all the time

I am greatly amusing by Captain Democrazy(sic) try at diffusing the use of humour here:
http://www.stephentaylor.ca/2009/12/liberal-reaction-full-of-holes/

Some commenters are already spanking Taylor on his blog for being a complete idiot (wonder how long these comments will stay up).

Taylor writes:"For a buck or two, a designer can grab a professional illustration or photo to accent a base illustration or photo"

That is fine except when you look at the image of the stock picture and it cost 10 credits... That is not a buck or two but closer to 15 (depending under the plan it was purchased).

If the idiot can even get simple facts right on the spin...

Of course little captain democrazy goes on to stay that file is name paper holes... except that keywords are the following:Cut Or Torn Paper, Paper, Hole, Torn, Exploding, Target Shooting, Punching, Broken, Image Effect, Cracked ...more

Fucking moron...are you sure you want to go with that explanation?

Anonymous said...

Nice to see that captain democracy moderates the comments...

The iStock image can be viewed here:

I expect Taylor to continue with his false narrative - because they lie all the time.

Did he delete you? Wow, I thought he was getting better.

No, he just did not publish my comment.

Most likely because it completely invalidates his talking point about the file being named "paper holes" but he omits that the keyword is TARGET SHOOTING...

Ti-Guy said...

Someone should photoshop Harper with one of those holes in his forehead and then claim they're jes' playin' with their Stephen Harper cut-out paper doll kit.

And we'll all laugh and laugh and laugh...

CS must have rolled out the holiday wanking.

The question is will she masturbate publically more or less in 2010 than 2009.

That's kinda like asking if she'll be able to stay on topic in 2010.

Keep being dependably mediocre CS.
