Once I was all for
rescinding Conrad Black's Order of Canada. These days, however, I have become more compassionate I guess and I feel he should be allowed to keep the thing. He may be able to trade it away for cigarettes or in one of those "leave me alone, Bubba" moments.

Can't agree. It's not Black's felony conviction that's the issue here. Black's flagship incubated/nurtured the careers of some of the most intellectually and morally bankrupt "journalists" this country has ever known. People who haunt us still; who just won't stop until the last news agency in the country is nothing but a smoking ruin.
As an aside, your link to The Shotgun provides a further link to one of Black's last hurrahs, complete with photos, each one more emetic than the last.
Take it away - these people are all about cheap symbols...
