Fox News North Viewership Numbers Still Crap

With an average minute audience of 11,400 during the Hard News day and 31,200 for Straight Talk in prime time, Sun News is off to a strong start.

Its from a news release, so they can't bullshit too hard.  The scary part (for Sun TV) is that, if you look at these numbers from June and do a bit of cheap math, you get viewership in June averaging about 23,000 per minute, and viewership today averaging about 21,300.  So its like the station was born dead and has been flat-lining ever since.

And this if from before the over-the-air version of Sun TV in Southern Ontario and Ottawa went dark last month meaning viewers in the country's largest media market can now only watch the joys of Ezra if they subscribe to his digital cable channel or watch Blazing Cat Fur's bootlegs.

I cancelled my Eastlink digital cable subscription over their decision to have that crazy nonsense pollute our HD channel selection. Having just basic cable was a bit of an adjustment, but we still have more channels then we need. Next step: No fucking teevee.

I did that 6 months ago, after my wife flipped out over Rogers service. We watch some tv on youtube and still come in under our Rogers download limit. Haven't missed it at all.

When the guy came and dismantled the equipment, he informed me that our Sony Bravia had its own internal HD signal receiver and all you had to do was perform a channel search and you'd get several HD channels. So I followed his advice and low and behold we were able to tune in a dozen or so channels that include TCM and AMC movies, Rogers Sportnet One, the two Disney channels and Oprah's OWN. Personally I don't think the Oprah network is very far up the evolutionary ladder from Sun News, but still, these freebees are a nice little compliment on top of a basic subscription that only costs $28 a month.
