Garth Jumps the Shark

Sorry, I have a certain amount of admiration for the guy, but calling a news conference to say you're officially quitting the Tories after they've essentially kicked you out is pathetic. Oh, and the "disturbing news" contained in those three letters he received from party bigwigs? They told Garth that:

1) He's been disqualified as a party candidate in the next election, despite the fact he's a card-carrying member of the party.

2) The decision came in a closed meeting by the party's national council and "no reason was given."

3) The national president of the party says "I will not be permitted to seek the Conservative nomination or a Conservative nomination again."

4) His suspension from Caucus is indefinite and no reason will be given for it -- nor will any evidence will be provided to his electors.

Boo fucking hoo! Garth Turner, I dub thee Media Whore!

You were hoping for meth and man-ass, weren't you? C'mon...this is Canada, a country in which every citizen ends the day by writing "Dear Diary...Nothing ever happens here!"

If we're going to have a market place of media whores...er...ideas, at least let's have more diversity.

Yes, but I would have settled for even a sniff of illegality. You think Harper's crapping his pants over this announcement? He probably snoozed right through it

I'm pretty sure we haven't heard the last of what all has been happening in the upper echelons of the CPC. We may never hear about it all until such a time as it's completely irrelevant, but certainly, the hypocrisy in how they've conducted themselves according to their principles sets off alarm bells. If they can't be principled about the small things, can they principled about anything?

Ti-guy's right -- on both accounts. No chance that Garth had anything of interest, except his own man-lust for the camera. But look deeper into the issue and you see a little bit of turd starting to surface. There's some anger in Ontario about a candidate, reportedly bought off, who is trying to get his money back. then you've got a couple of miffed alberta members real red-necked over a cheap ploy of protecting a sitting member. Harpor's means of democracy don't include open votes, apparently. Guess that was the part of REEEEFFFFOOORRRMMMM! that he hated back when...
