Remind Me Not To Get Sued

Connie Fournier of Free Dominion is asking for another $3,200 to cover legal expenses. This on top of the $3,000 they asked for in early May. Impressive fundraising numbers (they've also tossed $300 to Stephen "The Persecuted Pastor" Boisson), but it looks like the coffers are filling up a little slower this time.

You know my mother always wanted me to become a lawyer. Always, always listen to your mother.

Update: Thanks for the correction, Connie! And I'm always glad to help out with your fundraising.

What? And have to represent people like this?

bigcitylib said...

If by represent you mean "take their money" it doesn't sound so bad.

I can't believe you are this naive. Do you really think you will get a "pass" on this? Seriously, do you? If so, have I got news for you. And yes, I have heard some things.

What goes around...

Look on the bright side, ti-guy and all of of your "friends" will rush in to help out. Yeah right!

It's going to suck being you.

Here's some happy news for all of you HRC cheerleaders:

Human rights complaints will be processed faster

New system lets people go directly to a tribunal, aims to help decrease backlog of 4,200 cases

If I were Mark Fournier and I read what was written about his wife, on this blog, you wouldn't be breathing right now. I hope they wreck you. If I had my way the next thing you would be pushing is a shopping cart, not a blog.

Get a life, Narrow Back.

Yeah, a "life". Should I start calling women cunts and demented cows, like you? Creep.

Oh get over it, you demented cow (thanks for that...I haven't used that in a long time). Spreading vicious rumours and lying is a lot worse than a couple of bad words.

Jesus Christ, you people have no sense of perspective.

According to the omnipresent spiritual leader of Big City Lib, Warren Kinsella, words are weapons, words hurt. Calling women "cunts" is no different than calling a person of African decent "nigger" or an aboriginal a "chug". In this case, your hateful words are directed at 50% of the population. I think a bunk bed in one of your camps is in order - until the "emergency" is over.

It will be interesting and entertaining to see how the OHRC stumbles forward with the new powers given to it.

With the Supreme Court's recent decision, methinks the OHRC and other HRC's (Hint, hint: BCHRC) will be a bit less likely to trample willy nilly over our free speech rights.

Nice deflection, cunt. Now what about the malicious rumours and lies?

Think again, little liar.

Methinks you're wanking it two-fisted. But if it feels good, do it.

Which ones?

This one:

Either come clean, or shut up, you demented cow.

Watching various HRCs in action is like watching a 5 year old drive a car . . . fascinating, but one wants to stop it before anyone gets hurt.

The Supreme Court just threw a giant wrench into HRC's plans to mutate into areas they have no business (or competence) meddling in.

I'm betting the BCHRC "got the message" loud and clear from the CHRC and Supreme Court decision and finds Macleans innocent in the near future.

And the OHRC will be looking over their shoulders knowing that both the public and the real courts are keeping a close eye on them.

OMG, Paul S. Do you ever assert anything that has a basis in fact?

Do you even know what an assertion is?

The truthiness of what I say is never in doubt ti-guy. :P

"OMG" - ti-guy

OMG??? You sound like a Hannah Montana fan ti-guy.

It'll be interesting to watch how this plays out. The last time Connie put out a request like this, she was able to raise $3000 in 24 hours. It's now 36 hours, and she's raised $1700.

As this drags out, the bills will get higher and the enthusiasm of the punters to give will get lower. It's just not that easy to keep the outrage stoked.

And once this gets into the actual trial, she might need this much money on a daily basis.

I agree completely. Which makes the point that many of us “speechies” have been trying to make; this has NOTHING to do with justice or stopping “hate”. It’s about using taxpayer’s money to silence and ruin those who do not worship the insane agenda of the politically correct HRC’s. Thanks Buckets for sharing your delight in the success of this nefarious gang of kafkesque goons.

I’m reminded of Dostoyevsky’s Crime and Punishment where the horse is whipped and goaded to death while the illiterate, savage peasants joyfully cheer on the brutish ogre who wields the whip. I feel like the little boy who watches horrified at what he sees but helpless to do anything about it.

Gang rapes have the same tenor and tone.

But hey, don’t let me stop you from enjoying your “entertainment”.

You seem to assume that the legal costs that Connie and Freedominion are facing are from HRC cases. This is incorrect, the costs are arising out of defamation suits that Richard Warman and Warren Kinsella have filed against them. You knew that, right?

Hair splitting. Warman and Kinsella both make their “living” through groups funded fully or in part by tax dollars, such as the CJC and Department of Defense. Technically, they will pay from “their pockets” (Warman’s, filled with hurt feeling awards). Who’s kidding who though? This is all born out of the Gentes complaint. When that died Warman came forward. When Kinsella hooked up with CJC he joined in. The end and goal are the same, regardless how they get there. I just don’t give a fuck anymore; it’s all the same to me.

buckets said...

Nope. Not hairsplitting at all. Different processes completely, and the HRC complaint that you mention (Gentes) had nothing to do with Warman or Kinsella. But to put it succinctly, if you write something false about someone that damages their reputation you might get sued. And lawsuits are expensive.

Well, you would know, as you're obvioiusly familiar with the grotesque defamation and the swarmings and pogroms hosted daily over at FreeDominion. Every topic over there is followed by what looks like a gang rape to me.

Seriously, they're getting what they deserve. Just be grateful it's through the legal system and not some viligante justice.

I signed up under this name. I lasted a few hours. You have a point.
