I got stuck in this on my morning run. Luckily, I was able to hop a bus and caught nothing but a soaking. "Toonie-Sized" is about right. Made a heck of a noise on the bus roof.
One thing I like about T.O. and Eastern Canada in general is you get real, window rattling thunderstorms. Out West it just drizzles for weeks at a time.

What I don't like about Southern Ontario though, is that the thunder and lightening come at the same time as the rain. Up north, you can stand outside and watch light show for a good long time before the rain starts.
I live in Stratford and I saw a great amount of rain, and lightning but do not recall much other than a little hail but nothing big.
Have you ever left "The Center of the Universe"? All of the Prairies get thunderstorms, and yes, even hail.
Princess,
When I talk about the West I usually mean the West Coast, which is the best part of it.
