Those Sneaky Abortionists!

There are certain aspects of the abortion issue that tend to creep me out a bit--particularly the concept of a "partial birth" abortion. However, the futility of a PBA ban can be seen from this story. The short version: since a medical procedure is just "a course of action intended to achieve a result in the care of patients", you can always avoid the ban by changing the physical acts that make up the procedure in question. Which is what they are now doing in Boston, PA. And in fact these kind of "outs" to any Partial Birth Abortion ban were being pointed out by physicians way back in the mid-1990s, when the issue first took off. So, a decade's worth of work on the part of U.S. Evangelicals for nothing.
