So, what is my plan?

1. Support the Yinka Dene! The Northern Gateway project is dead if I am elected national chief. The Kinder Morgan expansion will become the next topic of discussion after Gateway. This will wake up the Asians, the Americans, and the world that First Nations in Canada will not simply stand by the wayside as our resource wealth is sold off by the immigrants. The immigrant “free ride” on our natural resource wealth is over if I am elected national chief.

Yoiks!  On the other hand, at least he didn't refer to us all as "whitey".  

Meanwhile, Pattison Outdoor has told Greenpeace that it has rejected their billboard re oil-spills in the Alberta tar-sands. That'll keep those smelly hippies quiet for damn sure!  

Meanwhile, a third Alberta oil spill!  The  Energy Resources Conservation Board, Alberta's oil and gas "regulator", helpfully explains that they usually get about two spills a day, so this recent run is actually pretty decent. 

Syncrude Nails A Few More Ducks

...although, as Ezra Levant is sure to point out eventually, if it were Nigerian oil coating those ducks, there would be a teaspoon full of blood in each barrel, which would be even yukkier for the ducks. He would also probably accuse the ducks of being in cahoots with Greenpeace.

Greenpeace Shoulda Listened To Me

...because if they'd pulled the piece--which suggests taking violent action against climate change deniers-- when I (and others) told them too, they'd've suffered 24 to 48 hours less grief. But they finally have pulled it, and that's good. So far, the only MSM outlet to pick up has been Leo Hickman's Guardian Blog, which gives a fairly sympathetic account, so hopefully the damage won't be too severe. I still fear, though, that the story will wind up on the Limbaugh show. There's usually a couple days lag between the appearance of this kind of thing in the deniosphere and its appearance on Fox.

Calls to violence, even if intended rhetorically, are never good PR.

GreenPeace Emulates Marc Morano

Here's Marc on climate scientists:

"I seriously believe we should kick them while they're down," [Morano] said. "They deserve to be publicly flogged."

Here's "Gene" from Greenpeace India. As you can see, he's got a goatee and tatts and even now he's probably listening to that shitty rap metal music kids today are so into on his ipod. Anyway... His opinion?

If you're one of those who have spent their lives undermining progressive climate legislation, bankrolling junk science, fueling spurious debates around false solutions, and cattle-prodding democratically-elected governments into submission, then hear this:

We know who you are. We know where you live. We know where you work.

And we be many, but you be few.

Now, what's the difference between these two people? Well, for one thing, Morano is deeply connected to the U.S. GOP establishment and commands an army of tea-bagging kooks with a potential for real violence through his website Climate Depot. And, indeed, in the aftermath of the CRU Hack , a number of climate scientists have been on the receiving end of some rather disturbing acts of vandalism. Gene is a nobody who probably needs help setting his player to"shuffle".

However, even as we speak the right-wing nut machine is doing all it can to elide these differences and push Gene's remarks to any MSM news outlet ready to repeat them and ascribe them to Greenpeace per se or, worse, to Environmentalists per se. Astonishingly, in the comments of the above post, Andrew (Greenpeace's web producer, for whom the term "hapless" appears to have been specially invented) is attempting carrying on effete philosophical discussions with faux outraged deniers sent over from CD rather than pulling down Gene's diatribe (update: or at least editing out that nutty conclusion) and saying, clearly and finally, that Greenpeace 1) does not have a file which includes the home addresses of its opponents, and 2) does not endorse violence.

Because, if you don't endorse violence, you don't post material that appears to endorse violence. Period.
