Latest Poll On Northern Gateway

A new poll has found 61 per cent of B.C. residents oppose Enbridge's proposed Northern Gateway pipeline, while support is at 35 per cent.

And the Insights West online survey found opponents of the project are more entrenched – 38 per cent are strongly opposed, compared to just 11 per cent who strongly support the new route for crude oil across northwestern B.C. to Kitimat.

The full results can be found here. Meanwhile Alberta separatist Ted Morton ponders measures that, if taken, could lead to a civil war in this country. So, yeah, to say they could "backfire" is one way of putting it.

Wouldn't surprise me, given the nature of his twittering, if Frederick Lee didn't have some trouble with his own name. Or someone at politwitter will need to make a few apologies.

I don't use politwitter, but it looks like you have to sign up yourself yourself.

PPS. Could also be a prank. The original twitter feed is clearly his; someone unbeknownst to Ted might have signed him up for politwitter, and removed a strategic letter from his name. In which case politwitter should review is security features.

UPDATE: David Sands says the origonal Ted Morton twitter feed, and the politwitter stuff, are "not real", which I would assume means we are looking at a case of impersonation. Someone is going to have some legal troubles.

PPPS. Unless that "Satire" note at the end of the politwitter entry there is enough to get the satirist off the hook. I'm not sure the people responding to his "tweets" have figured that out, and he links to the actual Ted Morton website, which seems like a possible no no.

Alberta Panders To Creationists?

Rumours circulating around their new Human Rights Legislation:

Parents would be given the opportunity to opt their kids out of instruction surrounding human sexuality, sexual orientation and other lessons counter to a family's religious convictions.

Difficult to say how seriously this should be taken. Discussions of several proposed changes to their human rights legislation were deferred, so it is hard to imagine anything being tabled this week (as per the source article).

Interesting that MLA and failed Alberta Tory leadership contender Ted Morton's name comes up in connection with these rumoured changes, his base of support being rural Alta. for example the area around Big Valley, home of Canada's first Creationist Museum.
