Anti-Abortion Militants Vs. Warriers For Weed

The Lifesite:

OTTAWA, May 11, 2007 ( - This year's March for Life, the 10th annual march organized yearly by Campaign Life Coalition drew a record 7,000 participants and was populated mainly with youth, estimated at around 75% of the crowd.

Adding to the frustration of trying to get around town this weekend with the DVP closed until Monday, more than 12,000 people took part in the ninth annual Global Marijuana March on Saturday.

Not even close, and I'd wager the stoners were alot better behaved! Certainly, they were listening to better music.

Gawd I love this country!

No potheads are way more organized, and we are way quieter(and much better music)and we know how to get things done. 12,000, hell, there were 20,0000!

Oddly enough...while I was out protesting for legal weed, my eldest son who is in bible college, was protesting abortion....if he wasn't my son i'd say something like, jeez i hate those right wing fundies!

LOL. I wish I had swung by the hill on Thursday to see if 75% of the crowd really was youth. Last year I remember the march and the little stand ins they had at intersections around the city -- didn't go over so well after one lady got into a shouting match with a protestor on Bank Street and they started throwing sign placards at each other. Glorious really.

I just love the implication being made by the statement "was populated mainly with youth, estimated at around 75% of the crowd" as if this unsubstantiated assertion alone indicates a wave of change breaking.

Debate on access to abortion is over, fundies. Get used to it, move on, start talking about something more your unrelenting fear of sex, for example.
