As much as the PC's desperately want to win the next election, it may not matter at this stage who they select to replace Redford.
The indisputable fact is that the PCs won the last election because a coalition of left and centre-left voters got together in reaction to the bozo eruptions out of the WRP.
If it wasn't for that, the WRP would likely have won a sizeable majority.
