Natural Resources Minister Joe Oliver Accuses NDP of Betraying Alberta

Except he's calling it Canada these days.  The Tory re-branding continues.

The worlds appetite for oil will never go away until it is gone. People in Ontario and Quebec better hope we keep selling oil in order to make your transfer payments.

Ontario has been paying transfers to the rest of the country since forever. You all owe us, big time.

From the article:

"The minister said the NDP should confine its criticism of the project to within Canada and not go abroad to deliver its political message."

Isn't that a comment that the Chinese communist government would make--stop interfering in our internal affairs? Mr. Oliver is stating that the NDP should never venture beyond Canada's boundaries. Only his master should speak on behalf of Canadians.

There are studies that showed when oil hits $120-$150, it might reach a breakpoint at which point demand would level off and people would start looking for alternative sources. We see a bit of this right now. The electric car was dead in the nineties, but it got a revival in interest after oil started rising in price.

Yeah, we saw some of that back in 2003 when Harper had a letter published in the Wall Street Journal talking about how Canada should be fighting in Iraq. Official government statement be damned.
