MacClean's Aaron Wherry takes a quick spin through Hansard and uncovers a whole passel of Neville Chamberlain analogies. Wielders of the ill-starred comparison include Jack Layton, Peter MacKay, and Robert Thibault.
Frankly, in jumping all over Elizabeth May, the opposition parties (and the Progressive Blogosphere in general) allowed themselves to get drawn into the government spin-cycle on a day that would otherwise have been about nothing but the Tories hopelessly confused story re tortured detainees.
Way to go, suckahs!

Excellent! Too funny. (Linked to you you on this over at my place.)
Will Bill Graham be up on war crime charges as well? Seeing as how it was HIS decision to send prisoners to Af'stanis, rather than those mean Americans at Gitmo.
the overthetop rhetoric was related to evoking Nazism, not chamberline anology. Notice, neither quote brought up Nazism there.
I guess you guys missed what they were offended by.
nice. i stole your bit but tipped the hat. i hope dion reads macleans or bigitylib....
janfromthebruce,
I think you're exactly wrong.
Is there really supposed to be a difference between compring someone's action's to Chamberlain's "appeasement" and comparing someone's actions to Chamberlaine's "appeasement of the Nazis"???
Please.
As usual, JanfromtheBruce has the wrong end of the stick.
jan, you're as crazy as rudy the ferret-weasel!
Jeff,
it's actually Wherry's story. The weird thing is, you go to Hansard, which is all online, and run "Neville Chamberlain" and its all laid out for you. I'm surprised it took until Wednesday for someone to try this. But I'll definetely be employing that resource a little more often.
jan, you're as crazy as rudy the ferret-weasel!
Jan's a classic Dipper moonbat. They get crazier as the Right wanes.
...sad, really.
So if Harper is Chamberlain appeasing the Nazis, guess who that makes the Nazis?
Nice shot to the foot, Liz!
