Layton Denies Proportional Representation Referendum Deal

I called up Karl Belanger, Layton's press secretary, and asked him if there was any truth to it He gave me a flat out: NO. It's all speculation, rumour, bloggers dumping falsehoods and rubbish into the electronic ether.

Denies a deal, or that the deal is a referendum on PR?

It seems like this story begins and ends with Robert McClelland. He says "There is talk flying around the web right now suggesting NDP Leader Jack Layton has made a deal with Prime Minister Stephen Harper"

But the funny thing is, all the talk flying around the web seems to be people quoting him or quoting you quoting him, or quoting Robert Silver quoting you quoting him. I'd really like to know where he's seeing this talk flying from someone aside from himself.

Call up Karl Belanger and ask. Pretend you're Robert Silver.

God, I detest the Internet.
