Levant Vs. Vigna

The defamation case against Ezra, delayed back in Feb., starts up again today. The Ez seems to have been busy preparing.

Whatever the outcome, Ezra will declare victory. It's how the Right works: start with the bold assertion and then construct the argument later (if at all). It's surprisingly persuasive to a lot of people.

Certified right-wing rag MacLean's cover story last week featured an article by l'il Michael Petrou that asserted that Sarah Palin is transforming American politics. I tried reading it to begin listing the elements of a proper argument but gave up in he first paragraph in which he cited Mark Halperin.

Ti-Guy, yeah I had to do a double-take when I saw the cover of Maclean's in the Rideau Centre yesterday. What a rag.

If you were to challenge any of that rag's so-called editors, they'll just respond that they're encouraging robust discussions by being "provocative."

To hell with provocative, you assholes. Just do some proper journalism.

I had been rather proud of the Canadian media during the American elections for treating Palin like the joke she was. Now they all seem to be suffering from a horrible fungal infection of the brain.

Did you read Solberg's article in The Sun today (not that you should have). It's hilarious.

He says:
The good news in Canada is that, based on the evidence to date, we need not fear any personality cults developing around, say, Michael Ignatieff.

and, literally a paragraph later says:

Having now seen her in action, what I now see is that her conservatism is in her bones, people relate to her and most of the mainstream media will never get her.

Odd. That's sounds like what Michael Petrou wrote.

They're trying to flog her so-called authenticity again.

Jesus Christ.

People relate to Sarah Palin so well that a majority of people hold a negative view of her and do not believe she's qualified to be president.

Meanwhile the media are scrambling all over each other to laud her for being widely disliked by the media.
