You Want An Extremist? Here's A TRUE (Tory) Extremist!

The Conservatives are claiming that they have the right to get away with slander because Liberals have called them "extremists" in the past. Well, that's because they deserved the term. Lest anyone forget what the real article looks and sounds like, here's links to video of 2006 Tory candidate for Ajax Pickering, Rondo Thomas. In less than five minutes, Rondo argues that:

1) The Earth is 6,000 years old.
2) Marriage is only for procreation
2) The Facts are wrong.

Find a guy like this on the Liberal side of the fence, and we'll talk? Okay? Otherwise, prepare your lawyers and prepare to say sorry.

You really have to dig BCL, a failed CPC candidate to counter the non stop "right-wing, neocon , extremists" gibberish emanating from Dion when ever someone sticks a microphone in his face.

BTW, you've got the real article in Tom 'fam values' Wapple sitting in caucus.

Don't think Tom ever claimed that men walked with dinosaurs.

"Slander" might be a little too strong BCL when you consider that Dion appears to have done a deal with a group of ethno-interest groups for their support at the convention.

"But Harper may prove the long-run winner. Even if Bains' father-in-law has nothing to do with Dion's decision to oppose national security legislation that his own party drafted just five years ago, there is little doubt that certain ethnopolitical special interests are calling the shots here. Among veteran Liberal insiders, it is believed that the several hundred Sikh convention delegates Bains and his allies led into the Dion camp (via Gerard Kennedy) came with a price: an end to the investigative powers contained in the Anti-Terrorism Act, which was opposed for predictable reasons by various Sikh, Tamil and Muslim organizations." - NatPost, 27 Feb.

It's long been Liberal practice to kowtow to ethnic special interests, even some with known terrorist links, but Dion seems to have found a new low; selling out our homeland security to win the leadership. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Alfred,

If that's from Kay's editorial in the Natty Post he's getting it all from "well informed sources", which likely means voices in his head.

And the CPoC would surely cater to ethnic interests if they were able to attract any ethnics to the party.

alfred said...

BCL, there was a time you would spike mindless vitriol like the above?

bigcitylib said...

I don't recall that time. If you make a specific request I will consider it. Remember, though, your guys have been referring to us as Hindu extremists lately. We hurt inside.

Ti-Guy said...

Huh? If anything, BCL has been far too indulgent of disruptive commentary (like yours always is).

The topic of the discussion, Alfred is that the Conservative party attracts all kinds of extremists, the most obvious being the delusionals (like Rondo) and the smear-merchants (the current set of elected Conservative MP's).

...and most of their supporters are nothing but trolls. Like you.

You win, I'm gone.

So, there are no extremists in the left-wing camp? None at all?

No animal rights wingnuts?

No anti-corporate anarchists?

No Fembos, who wish to see all men castrated and imprisoned?

No destroyers of family values, who would rather the State raise your children, and the abolition of the church?

Nobody wanting to legalize drugs, prostitution, or lower the age of sex with minors?

Nobody wants to ban all guns, do they?

No, none of those are 'extremist' views. Those are all 'mainstream, ordinary Canadian' views. Why, I believe John A. MacDonald fought for free heroin clinics, didn't he?

Ralph Goodale is right, Canada's parliament and judicial system has been poisoned by Harper, but when you put rat poison out, you expect the rats to complain!

mecheng said...

Wow. Liberals are bent out of shape about being accused of having some "extremists" within their organization, but seem to have no problem with making comments like "Nazi Post" to try to dismiss an article that is not favorable.

The hypocrisy is astounding.

Ti-Guy said...

Hey, a connie troll managed to spell "hypocrisy" correctly.

You win, I'm gone.

Gee, I hope it wasn't something I said...

No, it was probably something you WROTE. Since spelling is so important to you, I'm sure you would agree that using the proper verb is just as important. Now all I have to do is pick which of your favourite insults best fits you.

Hmmm, Moron? No, too soft. Retard? Yes, retard just about sums you up. ti-guy, you are a retard.

3)Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause:

Would an example of that be "Beating Down the Conservative Menace"?

7) Obsession with National Security: Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses.

It's pretty easy to call up the 'guns are scary' argument, and listen to the BAN ALL GUNS crowd. Now, which political parties are always trying to ban guns? Oh yeah! Communists, fascists, and Liberals.

Communist, Fascists, and Liberals! Oh my!

Communist, Fascists, and Liberals! Oh my!

And IIRC, it was a Liberal gov't which implemented those provisions, correct? In a majority parliament, so they could do whatever they wanted to do.

Thanks Jay, you made it soooo easy.

"No animal rights wingnuts?"

Sure, but not very many of them use violence. Usually these guys can be ignored.

"No anti-corporate anarchists?"

Guilty as charged. Of course, I also don't advocate of use violence and have more in common with free-market libertarians than you think. But I'm guessing you are equating 'anarchy' with 'Mad Max' rather than a well defined political philosophy? Perhaps you ought to learn to use google...try Murray Bookchin and Karl Hess to start and then Murray Rothbard.

"No Fembos, who wish to see all men castrated and imprisoned?"

I have never heard of this group...they certainly don't represent anyone I know on the left. I think you are either hallucinating or making this up.

"No destroyers of family values, who would rather the State raise your children, and the abolition of the church?"

Nope. SSM was an expansion of the concept and idea of family. Can I ask why you need the government to tell you what your family values are?

No one on the left wants the state to raise kids. That's crazy. That's what right-wing nuts like Hitler or totalitarian knobs like Stalin did. No single person or organization on the left advocates this. You are making it up.

Abolition of 'the' church? Again, I know lots of atheists who don't much like know-it-all, holier-than-thou fundies who wish to control people's lives against their will. Live and let live is the normal motto on the left. So if 'the' church buts out and leaves us alone, we'll leave them alone. Most lefties ignore them anyway.

"Nobody wanting to legalize drugs, prostitution, or lower the age of sex with minors?"

Hmm. George Shultz wants to legalize drugs. A great many right-libertarians like the CATO Institute crowd want to too. Hardly the radical left. Prostitution, too. There are lots of good, solid economic reasons for doing it to.

How about anything that does not cause harm, and is done between two consenting adults or and adult does to themselves is none of the governments, or your, business? I think that lefty radical Thomas Jefferson would agree.

I know of no one that wanted to lower the age of sex with minors. Most just wanted to leave the previous law because 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'. So again, I think you are making this up.

"Nobody wants to ban all guns, do they?"

Sure there are. There are lots of COPS that would love this. Are you implying most cops are lefty radicals? There are lots of lefties who do not want to ban all guns, so again, this is just a meaningless sweeping generalization.

So from all of this trip, I must conclude that you are ignorant or just making stuff up. Shockingly, you appear to actually believe this stuff so I suspect, according to the DSM IV, you are delusional.

So I recommend some meds. Have a nice day.

I'm crushed. The troll who regularly gets up on the guerney, puts his feet in the stirrups and shoves a colonoscope into his rectum to make sure everyone gets a good look at his lower bowel here...and on his own blog...calls me a retard.

If anyone's looking for me, I'll be in my bedroom, crying inconsolably into my pillow...

Wow. I don't think I've ever posted here before, or even visited much, but this trip through the comments is revolting.

If this is the level of discourse you promote, I'm sure glad that you aren't ever going to be involved in any political party that I support.

Last time I visit. Enjoy your echo chamber, pardon me, your incredibly intelligent discussions...

(Sorry, just reread the post and realized it's just Ti-guy who drags it down.)

On the topic of Liberal nutjobs...Paul Hellyer has stated that he thinks we need to employ alien technology to save us from climate change.

Typical rightwinger feigning astonishment at the lack of civility: "Goodness gracious, my oh my...how simply dreadful...where's my fainting couch..." *swoon*

When did these tough righties all become so prissy? I've been asking that question since forever and have never gotten a good answer.

Probably because it's just a cheap charade.

Just because you deny it, doesn't make it any less true, mike.

All those examples of lefty extremist listed by anon 1:31 are there. Violent Greenpeace tactics? WTO demonstrators? Anti-war protestors who attack police? Feminists bent on destroying the culture of dominant patriarchy, at least in their minds? Which one religion is considered fair game by the Left?

The whole politically correct movement of the paleocommunists is completely void of reason, purpose, reality, equity. But when you're devoid of morality and will pick and choose your prejudices, being blind to your own hypocrisy is only overshadowed by your arrogance and ignorance.

You can't spell Liberal without l-i-e!

real quality dialogue here ;-). you want a conservative extremist, how about maurice vellacott; famous for defending police officers who sent many First Nations Peoples in Saskatoon to there death via dropping them off on the outskirts of town only to freeeze to death on the walk home.

anon,
There were sunset clauses as you well know put into provisions introduced under the liberal government that conflicted with rights. And guess what now they are gone. Harpo would love to get his greasy hands on that sort of power and if he were to craft similar provisions now I doubt sunset clauses would have been added. he was against adding provisions to protect rights with the extension of these provisions.

As for everything else you said. The liberal party is centre. fascism tends to come from the extreme right, and communism from extreme left. Nothing scary about the centre.

You say beating down the conservative menace. How about refusing to work in parliament because the official opposition is liberal. How about conservative senators being silenced and removed from posts by their own and then the entire caucus walking out because of refusal to work with liberals. How about gay rights, SSM, funding for women's groups and charter challenges which brings us to point #5 and #8

5) Rampant Sexism: The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Opposition to abortion is high, as is homophobia and anti-gay legislation and national policy.

8) Religion and Government are Intertwined: Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions.

Hey anon, I'm not one of your mythical "Fembos, who wish to see all men castrated and imprisoned" but I would make an exception in your case if you had anything to cut off.

BCL, you must be awfully bright, you sure attract a lot of bugs.
